An important edition printed at the initiative and with the approbation of the holy Rabbi Yisrael Hopstein, the Maggid of Kozhnitz, who actively promoted the dissemination of the Maharal’s works. The book was brought to print by his disciple, the Chassidic printer Rabbi Yaakov Moshe son of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman of Yaroslav, father of the Rebbe Rabbi Yeshaya Muskat, Av Beit Din of Praga. This edition reflects the special esteem in which the early Chassidic masters held the teachings of the Maharal, as well as the efforts of the Maggid of Kozhnitz to bring his works to print and disseminate them among Torah scholars.
