Constantinople, [1714] – Magnificent Copy in an Antique Leather Binding - Bnei Yaakov, an extensive commentary on Sefer HaIttur together with responsa, by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Sasson. Constantinople, [1714], printed by Jonah ben Jacob of Zalozitz. Only edition. An important Torah work devoted to Sefer HaIttur, one of the fundamental halachic works of the Rishonim, authored by Rabbi Yitzchak ben Abba Mari. Rabbi Yaakov Sasson discusses and elucidates the rulings of the Baal HaIttur, examining his sources and comparing his opinions with those of other halachic authorities. The volume also includes halachic responsa by the author. At the bottom of the title page are the printer’s words in praise of Rabbi Chaim Kimchi, who brought the work to press and was instrumental in its publication. The sole edition of this work, printed in Constantinople in the early 18th century. The present copy is particularly handsome, printed on high-quality white paper, with colored edges and preserved in a fine antique leather binding. [3], 243 leaves. 31 cm. High-quality white paper.
