At the beginning of the work, the author presents in detail his remarkable genealogical lineage, spanning dozens of generations and tracing his ancestry back to King David—a rare and impressive pedigree recorded by the author himself. On the verso of the title page appears a handwritten inscription by the author. Rabbi Moshe Dayan was among the foremost rabbis of Aleppo, serving as a halachic authority for the Musta'arabi community and devoting himself to the welfare of its members. His commentary combines peshat, homiletics, ethical teachings, and original insights on the verses of Shir HaShirim, reflecting the rich spiritual world of Syrian Jewry in the nineteenth century.
