Extremely Rare: Passover Haggadah for Ashkenazi Immigrants to the Land of Israel – Jerusalem, 1890 - Passover Haggadah with the Laws of Bedikat Chametz and the Order of the Seder in Hebrew and Ashkenazic (German), edited by Mordechai Edelman and Rabbi David Feinstein. Jerusalem, printed by A.M. Luncz, 1890. An exceptionally rare Jerusalem edition of the Haggadah, printed in a miniature format and intended for use by the Ashkenazic communities of Jerusalem, particularly immigrants from Germany who had settled in the Holy Land. Alongside the traditional Haggadah text appear German instructions and explanations for conducting the Seder, enabling readers to follow its order and understand its laws and customs. Printed on the verso of the title page is an attractive illustration of the Western Wall, among the early printed depictions of this sacred site to appear in Hebrew books published in Jerusalem during the late nineteenth century. This Haggadah was produced at the press of Avraham Moshe Luncz, one of the most important printers and publishers of the Old Yishuv period in Jerusalem. Sh.
