Protective Amulet for Safeguarding, Success, and Favor. Manuscript on Parchment. 20th-19th cent. - An early handwritten amulet inscribed in ink on parchment, containing prayers and protective formulas for safeguarding, success, and blessing, together with sacred names and angelic invocations. The text includes a prayer beseeching divine protection from all forms of sorcery and harmful influences, that no harm should befall its bearer in body, property, or any part of his being. It further invokes protection against the evil eye and all manner of negative forces. The amulet also contains an invocation of the angel Michael for success in all endeavors and for finding favor in the eyes of others through the power of the sacred names recorded within. Written in ink on parchment in a clear hand, the amulet reflects the longstanding Jewish tradition of protective and devotional amulets intended to provide spiritual protection, blessing, and prosperity. Parchment size: 14 × 12 cm. Condition: Fair. Stains and folding marks. Mounted in a glazed frame with an antique metal border.
