An important public proclamation issued by Maran HaGaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, calling upon parents to strengthen Torah education by enrolling their children in traditional Torah institutions and chadarim. Presented here is the original working copy, prepared on a typewriter and bearing the autograph signature of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. This document appears to have served as the approved master copy from which the proclamation was intended to be printed or duplicated for broad public distribution. The document was produced during the early years of the State of Israel, a period marked by intense debate over the character of Jewish education in the newly established state. The leading Torah sages viewed the strengthening of Torah institutions and the preservation of traditional Jewish education as a matter of utmost importance, and actively encouraged parents to entrust their children to Torah schools. His writings became foundational works in the yeshivah world, and his influence upon Torah life in Eretz Israel was immense.
