Printing from the Year of the First Edition – Corrected Text Likutei Torah has a particularly interesting bibliographical history. The book was first printed in Chernivtsi in תר”כ. After its publication, textual errors were discovered, and a table of errata containing the necessary corrections was added to the edition. Later that same year, תר”כ, the book was printed again, leaf for leaf in the same format as the original printing, but this time the corrections listed in the errata were incorporated directly into the text. The present copy belongs to this corrected printing – a rare printing from the very year in which the book first appeared, constituting an important bibliographical variant of the first edition. The holy Rabbi Mordechai Twersky of Chernobyl [תק”ל–תקצ”ז], son and successor of the great luminary Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Chernobyl, author of Me’or Einayim, was one of the foremost leaders of Chassidut and among its principal disseminators in Ukraine. His teachings were transmitted primarily orally and were collected after his passing in the present work. They combine profound foundations of Chassidic thought with practical guidance in the service of God, refinement of character and proper conduct. His eight sons became prominent Rebbes, from whom descended the great Chassidic dynasties of the House of Chernobyl. The Copy of the Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael Hager of Rădăuți The volume bears the stamps of the holy Rabbi Yisrael Hager [תרל”ו–ת”ש, 1876–1940], son of the holy Rabbi Moshe Hager and one of the Rebbes of Rădăuți. In 1913 he immigrated to the United States and became one of the early Chassidic Rebbes to establish his court there, working to strengthen Jewish and Chassidic life in the New World. He established a Beit Midrash in New York, led the Rădăuți Chassidim and was active in the fields of Jewish education and kashrut.
