A Fine Manuscript from Sana’a, Yemen, Early 20th Century - A fine and accurately written manuscript of Tractate Avot, preceded by Maimonides’ introduction to the tractate, “Thamaniya Fusul” (Eight Chapters). The introduction was copied in the original language in which Maimonides composed it – Judeo-Arabic, written in Hebrew characters. This is the original text of the work, not its Hebrew translation. At the end of the manuscript appears the Baraita traditionally printed as the sixth chapter of Tractate Avot, accompanied by the commentary of Rabbi Ovadiah of Bartenura.
