Marriage Certificate Signed by Rabbi Mordechai Rokeach of Bilgoray. Jerusalem, 1947.
Official marriage certificate, signed by the gaon Rabbi Mordechai Rokeach of Bilgoray, son of Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Belz, for the marriage of R' Yehoshua Elbaum to Breindel Ganzel.
The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Rokeach of Bilgorayֲ [1901-1950] was a son of Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Belz and brother of the Admo"r Rabbi Aharon of Belz. After his father's passing, he was appointed rabbi and Av Beit Din of Bilgoray. During the Holocaust, he escaped many places with his brother, the rabbi of Belz. When he ascended to the Land of Israel, he became one of the prominent personages in the Land of Israel and assisted his brother in reestablishing Belz Chassidism. He remarried in the Land, and passed away a short while later at a young age. His only son from this marriage is the Admo"r of Belz, shlit"a.
