Wooden Amulet. Italy, 19th Century
Large amulet for hanging on the wall of one's home. The amulet is carved entirely of beautifully crafted wood.
Two parts. The outer part is carved as a thick window frame decorated with shells and leaves.
A matching part appears in the middle of the window as a plaque with a carved seven-branched menorah with the Name ש-ד-י on top. The engravings are painted gold.
Length: 32 cm. Width: 21 cm.
