GOLDFISH - OHARA KOSON | EMAILSCHILD - GOLDFISH - OHARA KOSON | Condition: (1+) | Enamel sign, convex stenciled and lithographed, F around 1930, 25 x 37 cm, Vitracier Japy, two gracefully depicted veiltail goldfish floating above a so-called waterweed, signed: Ohara (Shoson) - but (at least) two masters were at work here, because reproducing Kozon's design in enamel of this quality is evidence of the highest artistry in enameling. The ornamental fish are embellished with hand-colored gold elements that highlight their scale structure and fins with a soft gloss. The depth of the water is by no means uniform: fine ripples enliven the dark background and lend the picture a subtle dynamism in combination with the soft but radiant colors of the goldfish. This is probably the rarest of all known enamel works by Kozon. | We do only sell originals, no replicas or fakes. Worldwide shipping possible.
