HUNTER | EMAILSCHILD - HUNTER | Condition: (3-) | Enamel sign in beautiful big format, stenciled and lithographed, NL 1950s, 96 & 148 cm, ”Langcat”-Bussum, the 'Grand Dame' of Dutch advertising art and therefore one of the masterpieces in Europe, the design comes from Willy Richard Pot, a Dutch artist that once used to be a movie-illustrator and stage-painter in Germany. It's hardly surprising that the lady is reminiscent of Audrey Hepborn, the style iconi with British and Dutch roots. The sign seems to be aged charmingly, it shows superficial traces of usage but gloss and colors are wonderfully preserved. Some material loss in the border area has been replaced, the enamel itself is untouched and still shows the glamour of its time - a big rarity! | We do only sell originals, no replicas or fakes.
