AIR FRANCE (1) - Large promotional model of an Air France Lockheed L.049 Constellation, wooden body, base with company logo, cast aluminum, hand-colored, around 1948, L 58 cm, S 76 cm / L 22.8 in. W 29.9 in, Marquette d'Etude et d'Expedition, the globe-like display on the base shows all the destinations that the airline flew to at the time. Back then, the model was only placed in certain airports and selected travel agencies. It wasn't until the 1980s that this piece reappeared at a flea market in Karlsruhe, Baden, and it is still in pristine condition today. The rarity is easy to explain - as early as 1951, the model variant changed to the Super Constellation, the aircraft models became correspondingly slimmer and were henceforth produced entirely from cast aluminum. | *Only for self-organized pick-up
