ERNEMANN KAMERAS | EMAILSCHILD | ZUSTAND (1) - Condition (1) | Enamel sign, convex, lithographed, Dreden/GER around 1915/20, 20 x 33 cm, Aetz- & Emaillierwerke C. Robert Dold, Offenburg i.B., the white hat, blending into the background, casts a shadow across the face of the man who is adjusting his box camera. A fine example of early advertising that serves as a small tribute to the Dresden-based camera manufacturer. The design was created by Ludwig Hohlwein (German artist and commercial graphic designer, 1874–1955) in 1913. The graphic is undoubtedly one of the icons of German advertising. Hohlwein is particularly known for his clear, expressive designs, which, especially in enamel form, are sure to delight collectors. His distinctive, minimalist style, which often features bold color contrasts and simple forms, is unmistakably recognizable here as well. The high-gloss black enamel further enhances the piece’s expressiveness—a true rarity in this version! | We do only sell originals, no replicas or fakes. | Worldwide shipping possible for most items - wooden boxes available.
