LUMÜNOL ÖLE UND FETTE | ALTE REKLAME | ZUSTAND (2) - Condition (2) | Porcelain sign ( Enamel sign ), convex, thickly stenciled, GER 1920s, 60 x 40 cm, Torpedo-Email - Frankfurter Emaillir-Werke, Neu-Isenburg, a rare original, its color scheme subtly reminiscent of the Shell enamel signs from that very same period. In fact, however, it advertises products from a small lubricant manufacturer in Böckingen near Heilbronn, which undoubtedly capitalized on the recognition of those colors. The brand name was derived, in part, from the name of the company’s owner, Ludwig Müller. It’s safe to say that this is one of the most memorable images in German pre-war advertising, even though only a few examples of this sign are known to exist. | We do only sell originals, no replicas or fakes.
