CHOCOLAT MENIER | ALTE REKLAME | EMAILSCHILD | ZUSTAND (R) - Condition (R) | Enamel sign, stenciled and lithographed, F around 1914, 71 x 115 cm, Email Japy Frères & Cie, signed: Firmin Bouisset. Perhaps we can even speak here of the “Grande” of French advertising art - nowadays available in good condition only for six-figure sums - we have the opportunity to offer a piece that, although restored decades ago, is likely in a state of dormancy due to the extensive overpainting that was common at the time. The few areas that have been left untouched or uncovered (such as the artist’s signature, the enamel workshop’s mark, or the umbrella’s handle) reveal an extraordinary, authentic intensity of color. The material itself is also well-preserved, with only minimal missing sections or repairs along the edge. Those willing to take a chance could stand to gain a great deal here. |*Shipping possible as bulky good | We do only sell originals, no replicas or fakes.
