Pre-Columbian Peru, Chimu Culture, Blackware Stirrup Bottle - Pre-Columbian Peru, Chimu Culture, Blackware Stirrup Bottle. A bi-chrome terracotta vessel shaped with a globular body decorated with zoomorphic designs surrounded by dimpled decoration. A strap handle arches over the top of the body with a centered conical spout displaying a human head resembling the head of Naylamp (also Nylamp, Nanlap, or Naymlap), the legendary founder of the Lambayeque. Approx. 7.5” D x 10” H. From a private collector who lived and worked in Peru.
