A JAPANESE LACQUER FOUR BOXES INRO, 19TH C - Japan, 19th century. Four-boxes inrô, in black lacquer withiroe-hira and takamaki-e decoration, and togidashi, of a scenecontinuing on both sides, representing a peasant woman at the door ofher home, watching for the arrival of two men carrying containers , alarge tree with red berries merging the two sides. Signed Shunshô andwith red Kagemasa mark. (Small lacquer losses and small cracks). H.7.9 cm. Provenance: Former collection of Mr. B., owner of Le BonMarché at the beginning of the 20th century
