Andres Segovia (Argentinian - Spanish, 1929–1996) - Still life with a jug and yellow flower, Oil on wood, 72 x 59 cm, Signed. A twentieth century Argentinian artist, Andres Segovia studied in both Buenos Aires and Paris. By the mid-1950s he was exhibiting his paintings and lithographs in Europe, the United States, and Argentina. His style was very reminiscent of the work of Bernard Buffet. Today his art can be found in the permanent collections of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Dusseldorf, the Musee de l'Athenee, Geneva, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart collected a number of Segovia's works.
