Ezekiel Baroukh (Egyptian - French, 1909-1984) - Composition, Oil on cardboard, 50 x 34 cm, Signed. Ezekiel Baroukh was a member of the Surrealist group Art and Liberty, formed in Egypt in 1938. He settled in France in 1946 where he established himself as an abstract painter. Studied at the academy of the painter André Lhote – who is regarded as a contributor to Cubism – in Paris. A work by Yehezkel Baruch was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2024. His works are included, among others, in the following collections: Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Fonds National d’Art Contemporain, France – FNAC, Musée d’Art Moderne, Chateauroux, France, and in Egypt - Musée National d’Art Moderne, Le Caire and Musée des Beaux Arts, Alexandria.
