Sefer HaZikaron. Ferrara, 1555. First Edition. - A collection of Pesakim (rulings) and Halachos (laws) derived from the Gemara, arranged according to the order of the Shas, by Rabbi Yishmael HaKohen. The author, Rabbi Yishmael HaKohen Tanuji – from a large and distinguished family of Kohanim from Tunisia. He immigrated to Egypt and was the chief of the Egyptian Rabbonim in his generation. The synagogue where he prayed existed until the beginning of the twentieth century and was named after him, 'Beis HaKneses Rabbi Yishmael'. The Chida, in his book Shem HaGedolim, praises the sefer and writes that it was written ”in the language of kav venaki.” 216 leaves. 20.5 cm. Nice margins. Good condition.
