Includes the rare geometry diagrams! - The great work of Rabbeinu the Rambam – Moreh Nevuchim (Guide for the Perplexed), which addresses the fundamental principles of faith and belief, is the foundational and primary book among all works of pure Jewish thought and outlook. In this edition, the commentary of Rabbi Asher Kreskas, one of the scholars of Provence in the 15th century, is printed for the first time, and it was included in many subsequent editions. The edition before us also includes the commentaries that appeared in the previous edition, Venice 5311 (1551): the commentaries of Rabbi Shem Tov ben Rabbi Yosef, the commentary of the Efodi by Rabbi Yitzchak Duran, the principles of the chapters of the Moreh by Rabbi Yehudah Alcharizi; the commentary on the difficult words by the translator Rabbi Shmuel Ibn Tibbon is printed here based on a different manuscript than the one first printed in Venice in the year 5311 (1551). With the two rare leaves composed by the Gaon, Rabbi Moshe Provenzalo, Av Beis Din of Mantua and a friend of the Beis Yosef – which deal with the matter of ”the two lines” discussed in the Moreh Nevuchim (on Daf 64b), and include 18 geometric figures. These pages are rarely printed and are found only in some copies. An important, early, and beautiful edition of the Moreh Nevuchim, with an important commentary printed here for the first time.
