Official letter with the letterhead of "The Palestine Prisons" sent to Rabbi Aryeh Levin by the Assistand Superintendent of the Central Prison of Jerusalem Lt and Qm. George Wade Wilson, with notification that he has consented to Rabbi Arye's request to arrange the mid-day meals for the Jewish Prsioners and that the necessary arrangements were put into operation.

The back bears a note in the hand of Rabbi Aryeh Levin: [in Hebrew] "Response to my request regarding lunches" - "My request was fulfilled regarding the Lunches"

Rabbi Aryeh Levin (1885-1965) was a magnificent Jerusalem personality. He was a genius, proficient in all sections of the Torah and a benevolent father to all in need. He served as mashgiach in Yeshivat Eitz Chaim and was known as the Rabbi of Prisoners because he visited them, encouraged them and took care of all their needs. He was particularly close to those condemned to death and visted them before their executions.
