Extremely Rare Likutei Shoshanim:  by the Maggid of Kremnitz With Handwritten Note Paritzk, 1818 * Sefer 'Likutei Shoshanim' contains remarkable words of inspiration and eulogies for several Gedolei Hador who passed away. It also contains an additional section 'Netios Shoshanim' which contains six discourses. Authored by the Maggid of Kremnitz, Rabbi Yitzchak Meizlish, son-in-law and prime disciple of the renowned tzaddik and gaon, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael HaLevi of Kremnitz, author of 'Shevet MiYisrael' and other works. This rare and small sefer contains a portion of his chiddushim and eulogies on the gedolim of his generation, foremost among them Rabbi Mordechai Mardush, Av Beis Din of Paritzk, a close friend of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev and author of the commentary on the Maharam Schiff. The impact of the eulogy for Rav Mardush, who had been the town's Rav, was so profound that the Jewish community of Paritzk approached the author with an impassioned plea to immortalize the eulogy in print. Their request was granted, and thus this sefer came to be published in their town, preserving the memory of their great leader and the magnificent tribute paid to him for generations. At the end of the sefer, the author printed a drasha composed by his grandfather Rav Avraham (Drush 6). Leaf 40 features a signed gloss from the author, explaining his aforementioned grandfather's words: ”Says Yitzchak his grandson, regarding what my grandfather wrote on leaf 77a... it is thus explained in the Zohar...” Rabbi Yitzchak Meizlish, the Maggid of Kremnitz, is described by Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe of Brod, in his approbation, as: ”A mouth producing pearls, sweet to the palate and healing to the soul, with [his] words of mussar.” Having lost his father in his youth, Rabbi Meizlish was raised in the home of his grandfather Rabbi Pesach, Av Beis Din of Vladava. He married the daughter of the Maggid of Kremnitz, author of 'Shevet MiYisrael', becoming his prime disciple. Upon his father-in-law's passing, in 1800, he assumed his position as Maggid. He brought many back to the correct path through his inspiring drashos. His brother-in-law is Rabbi Avraham HaLevi who published the renowned sefer 'Yesod Yitzchak' by the hidden tzaddik of Przemysl.
