Unpublished Letter of Chiddusei Torah by Rabbi Moshe Sofer Av Beis Din of Tiszafüred 1915 * A lengthy four-page pilpul in the laws of hekdesh (items sanctified for Temple use) and the halachah of one who designates to hekdesh that which is not in his possession. Entirely written by Rabbi Moshe Sofer, Av Beis Din of Tiszafüred. At its beginning, he includes a prayer for the recovery of his wife (the daughter of the chassid Rabbi Chaim Miller of Berezhovitz), and at the end he signs: ”And may Hashem grant us the merit to share good tidings with one another, as your beloved mechutan, your devoted friend who holds you dear, the humble one, Moshe Sofer.” To the best of Zaidy's knowledge, this letter has never been published. Rabbi Moshe Sofer (1840–1917) was a disciple of the Ksav Sofer and of his uncles, the authors of Machaneh Chaim and Yalkut Eliezer. He was the son of Rabbi Yaakov Shalom Sofer, one of the close disciples of the Chasam Sofer. His chiddushim were published under the title Maharam Sofer 2 vol. (Tarnow, 1928). It is a tradition among his family and students that Rabbi Moshe was the first child to be named after the Chasam Sofer (see the introduction to Maharam Sofer). Tiszafüred, 1915.
