Rare Invitation from Rebbetzin of Pristik, Daughter of the Shinover Rebbe * Printed invitation from Rebbetzin Feiga Baila Halberstam, wife of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pristik, and daughter of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova. The invitation is for the wedding of her grandson Rabbi Aryeh Leibush, son of her son Rabbi Avigdor, who was to marry Schneidel Miriam, daughter of Rabbi Asher Yeshaya, son of Harav Hatzaddik of Ilinov. Pristik, 1934. The wedding was scheduled to take place in Oshpitzin (Auschwitz). On the side of the invitation appear several handwritten lines and the signature of Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam, son of the Rebbetzin of Pristik, brother of Rabbi Chuna of Kolshitz, and uncle of the chassan. In them he informs the recipient of another engagement in the family and blesses them: “May the Almighty grant that it be a mazal tov for all your family.” As the holy Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pristik had passed away in 1926, the invitations were sent by the Rebbetzin herself. Rebbetzin Faige Baila Halberstam was the wife of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pristik and daughter of the Divrei Yechezkel of Shinova. She was a woman of exceptional spiritual stature and famed for her piety. Her father was known to have called her one of the three righteous women of the generation. People would flock to her home with kvitlach seeking blessings and salvation. She was killed in the Holocaust in 1942. Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam was born around 1887 to his father Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Pristik. From 1936 he served as Av Beis Din of Pristik, and was killed together with his entire family in the Holocaust in 1942. His daughter Rivka married Rabbi Shalom, son of his brother, Rabbi Chuna of Kolshitz. The invitation was printed in Risha . Folded leaf. Maximum size when open: 22.2 × 29 cm.
