Dibros Shlomo by Rabbi Shlomo of Lutzk Zolkiew, 1848. First Edition. * Explanations on the Five Chumashim following the teachings of chassidus, by Rabbi Shlomo of Lutzk, one of the greatest disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch and the editor of his writings. Printed at the beginning of the sefer is the approbation of the Chozeh of Lublin, who highly praises the writings of the author: “Wonderful chiddushim, sweeter than honey, and I greatly enjoyed them… they found much favor in my eyes, and they are most worthy to be publicized.” At the opening of the sefer appear the well-known introductions of Rabbi Shlomo to the sefer Maggid Devarav LeYaakov, in which he reveals a glimpse of the greatness of his rebbi the Maggid of Mezeritch and of the Baal Shem Tov. The Chozeh of Lublin, in his approbation to Maggid Devarav LeYaakov, praised these introductions, and he extols them once again in his approbation to this sefer. Also included is the approbation of the author’s son and successor, Rabbi Dov Berush, Av Beis Din of Olesko. Rabbi Shlomo of Lutzk and Koritz (d. 1813) was one of the prime disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch and a relative of his. He printed selections from his Rebbe’s teachings in Maggid Devarav LeYaakov–Likutei Amarim, and was known to have published several sefarim on Kabbalah.
