Sefer Toldos Yitzchak by the Rebbe of Neshchiz Warsaw, 1868. First Edition.‎ Wide Margins! * Chassidic interpretations and insights on the Torah, festivals, Tehillim, and various other topics. Authored by the Rebbe, ”renowned for his holiness throughout the world, ” Rabbi Yitzchak of Neshchiz, son of Rabbi Mordechai of Neshchiz. He also cites chiddushim from his illustrious teachers, the Chozeh of Lublin and Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev. This important work was cherished in all chassidic communities and is renowned for its value as a segulah sefer. The holy Maggid Rabbi Avraham of Trisk writes in his approbation: “Surely his sacred words will inflame a man to serve the Living G-d, and the merit of the holy tzaddik, of blessed and sanctified memory, will protect all who bring this holy sefer into their homes and study it.” Rabbi Elimelech of Grodzisk writes: “It is fitting for every one of our Jewish brothers to bring this holy sefer into their dwellings to serve as a safeguard of blessing.” The Rebbe rarely taught publicly, following the example of his saintly father, and most of his teachings were recorded only in his final year, making this sefer a unique and rare legacy. A handsome copy, with exceptionally wide margins — up to 7 cm from the text! There are two distinctive title pages — the first with a striking typographic design, with part of the text printed in gold letters. Warsaw, 1868. Fine new leather binding. On the first title page appears the signature of the chassid and noted bookseller Rabbi Yosef Chaim Biegelson of Oświęcim. Bibliography: Stefansky Chassidus, no. 607. - - - - - Tehillim Neshchiz As is well known, in 1864 the Rebbe personally funded the printing of a sacred and special edition of Sefer Tehillim. It is told that he would kiss each copy before handing it to the buyer. On the second title page of the present volume, the printer R’ Nosson Shriptgeiser proudly proclaims that he is “the one who in 1864 printed six thousand volumes of Sefer Tehillim under the auspices of our master, of blessed memory, in order to bring merit to the multitudes!” Although thousands of copies were printed, this edition of Tehillim is exceedingly rare today. Sixty-four pages of the sefer contain the Rebbe’s commentary on Sefer Tehillim, the songs of the singer of Israel, King David — of whom the Rebbe was a direct descendant.
