Likutei Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov Czernowitz, 1856. First Edition. * A collection of Torah teachings and righteous conduct, by the holy tzaddik, pillar of kindness, Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov, one of the most renowned chassidic tzaddikim. Printed directly from the author’s own handwritten manuscript, which according to tradition was preserved by his disciple, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kossov. This is the first sefer ever printed from the teachings of Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov, and for several years following its publication, it remained the only printed work of his Torah. Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov was an Ohev Yisrael with all his heart and soul, aiding every downtrodden and needy person beyond his ability, in secrecy and humility. Printed here for the first time is his famous saying: “If you are not a faithful Ohev Yisrael, you have not yet tasted the fear of Heaven.” Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov (1745–1807), one of the most revered chassidic tzaddikim, was the primary disciple of Rabbi Shmelke of Nikolsburg, and frequently cited his words in his own teachings.
