Printed at the Instruction of the Kozhnitzer Maggid Likutim of Rabbi Hai Gaon, Including the Rare Ilan HaSefiros Warsaw, 1798. First Edition. * Likutim from Rabbi Hai Gaon, containing a collection of early, profound kabbalistic writings, among them works printed here for the first time (see the detailed list below). It was printed from manuscripts belonging to the holy Maggid Rabbi Yisrael of Kozhnitz, as he himself attests in his approbation following the title page. The Maggid handed over the manuscripts to his disciple on the explicit condition that nothing be altered, “but just as it is written, so shall it be read — and those who understand it, will understand it.” The sefer was printed with the full consent of his friend, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, as the Maggid notes in his approbation. The Maggid immersed himself extensively in this sefer and even authored a commentary on it entitled Ner Yisrael, which was published several years after his passing. A complete copy, including the folded leaf (leaf 36) containing the Ilan HaSefiros diagram. This folded leaf is missing from many copies and is exceedingly rare. This is one of the earliest Hebrew books printed in Warsaw, a city which would later become one of the great centers of Hebrew publishing. Warsaw, 1798. First edition. Page Count: [1], 46 leaves.
