First Hebrew Sefer in the World on Commerce! The author is Rabbi Eliezer Milli , who served as the personal scribe of Don Yehuda ben Shmuel Abarbanel, of the renowned Abarbanel family. At the beginning of the sefer there is a printed dedication by Rabbi Eliezer in honor of Don Yehuda and his wise mother, Signora Benvenita. The purpose of the work is twofold: first, to establish precise formulations that would be valid legally and halachically and safeguard the interests of both parties; and second, to provide scribes with clear, ready-to-use templates for drafting documents.
