Bobov-Vizhnitz-Monsey Special Letter from Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov to the Yeshuos Moshe of Vizhnitz * Blessings for the Wedding of the Monsey-Vizhnitz Rebbe of Beit Shemesh, shlit”a A letter from the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov, with a rare addition of blessings in his own handwriting. The letter was sent to the Yeshuos Moshe, Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Hager of Vizhnitz, containing blessings on the occasion of the marriage of the Yeshuos Moshe’s granddaughter – the daughter of his son, the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Vizhnitz, shlit”a: “I extend my heartfelt blessing of Mazal Tov. May it be for the best, and may the marriage be successful and blessed with upright generations. This blessing is for you and for your dear friend, who inquires after the welfare of your exalted Torah.” He then added in his own handwriting: “With much love, may you be blessed in the merit of our holy forefathers, with abundant nachas and joy.  Humbly, Shlomo Halberstam.” The chassan is the Admor Rabbi Boruch Shimshon Hager shlit”a, son of the Admor Rabbi Mordechai Hager of Vizhnitz-Monsey zt”l (brother of the Yeshuos Moshe), who is currently the Nasi of the Vizhnitz-Monsey chassidus in Beit Shemesh. The large wedding took place in Kiryat Vizhnitz on Wednesday, the 8th of Kislev 1982, and was attended by thousands of chassidim from Vizhnitz and Vizhnitz-Monsey. Among those honored with the blessings were the Rebbe of Chernobyl (the grandfather of the kallah), and the Rebbe of Belz shlit”a (the kallah's uncle). A unique letter of blessing exchanged between two of the greatest Rebbes of the previous generation. The addition of blessings in the holy handwriting of the Admor Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov, is extremely rare! The Admor Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov (1908-2000), scion of the illustrious Sanz dynasty, was renowned for his wisdom, leadership, and noble bearing. He was the son of Rabbi Ben Zion, author of Kedushas Tzion, himself the son of Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov (the first), and he was a grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. In his youth, he received semicha from the great scholars of Galicia, and in 1931 was appointed as Rav in Bobov. By open miracles, he survived the Holocaust and rebuilt the chassidus in New York, which over the years became a magnificent empire.
