Pocket-Size Haggadah with Illustrations Amsterdam, 1778 * Pesach Haggadah with instructions and halachos, and Yiddish translation of the songs. Printed at the end of the Haggadah (leaf 32b) is the song 'Almachter Go-tt' in Yiddish, which Ashkenazic communities customarily sang at the end of the Seder. On the reverse of the title page, there is a fine woodcut illustration depicting the search for chametz: the father cleaning the chametz crumbs from the table, the son bending under the table searching for chametz with a lit candle in his hand, and the mother is holding jugs – perhaps for ‘mayim shelanu.’ Includes 15 decorated initial letters. Pocket format – only 14 cm in size! Amsterdam, 1778. Page Count: 40 leaves. Condition : Good, light restoration on title page, some repairs, characteristic wine stains.
