Sefer Mussar Haskel, Proper Conduct, and Paths of Teshuva by the Rambam – Shapira Press – Zhitomir, 1860 * The sefer Mussar Haskel was compiled by the famed maggid of Vilna, Rabbi Yechezkel Feivel (1755–1836), who was among those who merited to see the Vilna Gaon. It comprises two sections of the Rambam’s work: Hilchos De’os, on emuna, character traits, and medical remedies, and Hilchos Teshuva. With commentary on the Rambam by Rabbi Yechezkel Feivel titled Leshon HaZahav and Leshon Chachamim. The maggid was renowned for his remarkable drashos, delivered in a sweet, eloquent style that appealed to all. The present sefer merited multiple printings — first in Silesia (Dyhernfurth, 1790), and subsequently in several cities such as Polonnoye, Warsaw, Lvov, and others. This is the maggid’s first sefer, preceding by eleven years his other well-known work, Toldos Adam, on Rabbi Zelmele of Volozhin, a disciple of the Vilna Gaon and brother of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. Condition : Good; a few holes along the inner margins of the first ten leaves. Stains. Bound together with Sefer Ma'aseh Torah, Vilna 1839.
