Ateres Tiferes Yisrael – Segulah Sefer for Protection, Healing, and Abundant Blessing and Success – Warsaw, 1871 * Profound kabbalistic explanations on the parshiyos of the Torah, with combinations of Holy Names, by Rabbi Yisrael Charif of Satinov, a talmid-friend of the Baal Shem Tov. Second edition. The great sanctity of this sefer was well-known in Klal Yisrael, as written by the Heichal HaBrachah of Komarno, in his approbation: “I have come to testify, that his words are like fiery coals… this sefer contains awe-inspiring and wondrous matters, performing great deeds, wonders upon wonders.” Because of its exceptional holiness, tzaddikim regarded the holy sefer Ateres Tiferes Yisrael as a great segulah, and that the very act of keeping it in one’s home is a segulah for protection and success, for children, life, and ample sustenance. Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura said : “This holy sefer is filled with Holy Names and names of angels that are a segulah for healing and for protection from the four primary categories of damages, and for an outpouring of blessing and success.” The Heichal HaBrachah of Komarno, writes : “It is fitting that every person, with joy and a glad heart, should purchase this sefer at full price, and it shall serve as a protection for him in his home from all harm, and a hundred blessings will be bestowed upon him.” This is the second edition of the sefer, in which fourteen new approbations were printed from the greatest tzaddikim, who write of its exalted stature and its tremendous segulah. Among those who gave approbations are the Rebbes of the Ruzhin dynasty — Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak of Sadigura, Rabbi Menachem Nochum of Shtefanesht, and Rabbi Dovid Moshe of Tchortkov; the Rebbes of the Chernobyl dynasty — Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl, the Magen Avraham of Trisk, Rabbi Dovid of Tolna, and Rabbi Yitzchak of Skver; the Rebbes of the Kossov-Vizhnitz dynasty — the Tzemach Tzaddik of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Kossov, and Rabbi Alter Yosef of Radowitz; and the Polish geonim — the Shoel U’Meishiv and Rabbi Shlomo Kluger. The work was composed over the course of many decades, beginning already in the 1740s, during the lifetime of the Baal Shem Tov, and continuing until the final years of the author, who passed away in 1781. A complete and rare copy, including the first title page, two subscription leaves, and the publisher’s leaf of apology, all of which are lacking in many copies. Warsaw, 1871.
