“May we soon merit to connect geulah to geulah” A Letter of Geulah from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Written on the Day of the Redemption of the Mitteler Rebbe, 10 Kislev * A long letter spanning two pages, written by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Rebbe in the dynasty of Lubavitch Rebbes, whose influence spread throughout the entire world. The entire letter, from beginning to end, is devoted to the theme of redemption and Mashiach! It was written on the tenth of Kislev, the day of the redemption of the Mitteler Rebbe, “when the central undertaking of spreading the wellsprings [of Torah] was initiated, ” a date that stands in close proximity to the “day of good news” — the day of the redemption of the Alter Rebbe on the nineteenth of Kislev. From the depths of his heart, the Rebbe offers his passionate blessing: “May we soon merit to connect redemption to redemption,  for the fulfillment of the promise that ‘when your wellsprings [of Torah] will spread outward, the Master will come, ’ this being Melech HaMashiach,  who will wage the wars of Hashem and succeed, and defeat all the nations surrounding him,  and afterward build the Beis Hamikdash in its place, and afterward gather in the dispersed of Yisrael,  in the true and complete redemption of Bnei Yisrael,  and of the Shechinah in exile — it will return with them when they are redeemed,  as it is written: ‘And saviors (Mashiach) shall ascend Mount Zion to judge… and the kingdom shall be Hashem’s.’” He signs in his own handwriting: “With blessings for the Festival of Redemption, M. Schneerson.” On the second page, the Rebbe writes that the sending of the letter was delayed until the fifteenth of Kislev, the middle of the month, a time of the fullness of the moon, and he once again adds his blessings. In the margins of both pages, the Rebbe added sources for further elaboration of the blessings contained in the letter, among them references to the well-known Iggeres of the Baal Shem Tov, the well-known Iggeres of the Alter Rebbe, Likutei Levi Yitzchak, and other Nesi’im of Chabad.
