Rare Edition: Tikkun Leil Shavuos and Hoshanah Rabbah Shapira Press. Slavita, 1824 * Tikkun Leil Shavuos and Hoshanah Rabbah based on the order of the Shelah HaKadosh with the kavanos of the Holy Names as taught by the Arizal. Printed by Rabbi Shmuel Avraham Shapira, son of Rabbi Moshe Shapira Av Beis Din of Slavita, son of Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz. As is known, this is the first edition printed by Rabbi Shmuel Avraham Shapira, and it is rarer than the other editions. An early handwritten inscription appears on the title page: “Shapira.” Slavita, 1824. Page Count: 74, 44 leaves. Size: 18.8 cm. Condition: Fair to good; holes appear on many leaves, some repaired with pasted patches, primarily in the margins, with slight damage to the text in places. Noticeable stains and signs of use. New leather binding (worn). In this edition, the censorship approval was printed in the middle of the title page rather than on its reverse — an uncommon occurrence. ………………………………………… Shapira Press The sefarim printed in Slavita and Zhitomir by the Shapira family were enthusiastically embraced by chassidic tzaddikim. Rebbes and devout chassidim yearned to pour out their hearts before the Creator using siddurim printed with sanctity and purity by the Shapira family press. The holy Rebbe, author of Shomer Emunim, wrote: “Every God-fearing person should make an effort to purchase sefarim from early printings… especially from the Slavita and Zhitomir presses of the descendants of the holy Rav of Koritz, who were exceptionally holy printers” (Taharas Hakodesh Chapter 6).
