Special and Rare! Shishah Sidrei Mishnah with Commentaries, in One Massive Volume — Venice, 1606 * A monumental volume containing over one thousand pages in a tall format (!), with all six Sidrei Mishnah: Zera’im and Mo’ed, Nashim and Nezikin, Kodshim and Taharos. Includes the two foundational commentaries that had appeared until then: the Rambam and Rabbi Ovadiah of Bartenura. The present edition is one of the last editions, if not the very last of them, of the complete Shishah Sidrei Mishnah printed in a single volume with these two commentaries — the Rambam and Bartenura. Most later editions were printed specifically in small or medium formats, which are more convenient for carrying and transporting. At the beginning of the volume is the main title page. Before Seder Mo’ed there is a very brief title page, bearing only the words: “Maseches Mo’ed”! This edition was proofread by Rabbi Avraham son of Rabbi Reuven Ben Nachman of Morocco, who passed away toward the end of the printing of the sefer. In his introduction, which appears at the beginning of the sefer, he relates the story of his turbulent life and how he made his way from Morocco to Venice. At the end of Maseches Middos there are words printed for his ilui neshamah: “Fortunate is he, and fortunate is his neshamah, which departed at [Maseches] Middos.” A strikingly beautiful copy.
