Mor Dror by Rabbi Mordechai Deutsch, Grandfather of the Ohel Dovid – Wide Margins – Prague, 1738 * Sefer Mor Dror, containing chiddushim and explanations on sugyos in several masechtos of Shas. Included at the end of the sefer is a separate section of inquiries and discussions on the Rambam, printed with its own title page. Wide Margins. The author, the gaon Rabbi Mordechai Deutsch (d. 1773) , was a disciple of the Gedolei Hador Rabbi Dovid Oppenheim and Rabbi Avraham Broda of Prague. He served as Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva in the city of Polin in Bohemia, later moving briefly to the city of Totschap, and finally settling in Freistadt, where he remained until his passing. His grandson was the famed gaon Rabbi Dovid Deutsch, author of Ohel Dovid , one of the great Torah figures of Hungary, foremost disciple of the Noda B’Yehuda, and son-in-law of the gaon Maharam Ash of Ungvar.
