Sefer Tehillim by Dovid HaMelech. A thick pocket-format volume measuring 13.5 cm. In this edition, the Radak’s commentary appears in the margins of the text. Unlike the earliest printings, which contained the full commentary, this edition is the first to present an abridged and censored version, which subsequently became the basis for many later editions. The Institute for Hebrew Bibliography notes: “Subsequent editions were generally printed according to this edition.” Cremona, 1561. First edition of the abridged Radak commentary. Page Count: Leaves 2–188, 193–287. Missing a total of [14] leaves: [4] unnumbered leaves at the beginning, leaves 1, 189–192, and 288–292. Height: 13.5 cm. Condition: Fair to fair-minus. Kol Bochim – First Edition of the Zohar Chadash on Eichah and of the Commentary of Rabbi Avraham Galanti, talmid of the Ramak Megillas Eichah surrounded by two commentaries. The first is by Rabbi Avraham Galanti of Tzfat, a disciple of the Ramak, whom the Chida describes as “the holy one, outstanding in holiness.” This is the first edition of his commentary. The second commentary is by Rabbi Yoel ibn Shuaib, one of the rabbanim of Spain in the generation of the Expulsion, who later settled in Salonika. This is the second edition of his commentary, first printed in Salonika in 1521. At the beginning of the volume appears, for the first time, the section entitled “Megillas Eichah from the Zohar, ” namely the Zohar Chadash on Eichah. It was later incorporated into Zohar Chadash, Salonika, 1597, and listed by Stefansky, Sifrei Yesod, no. 328. The manuscript from which this volume was printed was sent by the Rema of Fano to the editor, Rabbi Yitzchak Gershon of Tzfat, a disciple of the Beis Yosef. Venice, 1589.
