The polemic over the Shabbat prohibition of carrying in the streets of Krakow | A rare eulogy book on the Rav of Warsaw | The dedication of Rabbi Elyakum Getzil Horowitz on his book Kevod Chachamim - copies from the library of the Gaon HaChasid Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Tzvi Hirsh Zilberstein of Radomsk - his handwriting and seal when he was Rav in Toronto, Canada.

Three important and rare books are bound together:

1. The polemic over the Shabbat prohibition of carrying in the streets of Krakow - the book of Rabbi Chaim Aryeh Leibish Horowitz in which he permitted reliance on the Krakow eruv, despite changes in its validity.

A Treatise on the Sabbath Permission to Carry in Our City of Krakow, by Rabbi Chaim Aryeh Leibish Horowitz, Av Beit Din of Krakow, and at the time of the writing of the book, a Dayan in Krakow. Krakow, 1888.

Following this publication, a great controversy arose against him and letters from other great rabbis were published forbidding the carrying in the city.

This work is extremely rare, as per our research it has appeared at auction only twice .

2. Ruch Chayim, Eulogy on the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Davidson, by Rabbi Benjamin David Rivnoff, Warsaw, 1854.

A rare lamentation on the demise of the Gaon of Warsaw, Rabbi Chaim Davidson, handsomely and particularly well-preserved pages!

3. Kevod Chachamim, The Elevation of Torah and Its Students by Rabbi Elyakum Getzil Horowitz, ninth generation descendant of the Shela"h. Vilna, 1562 - a truncated dedication by the author on the title page and his seal [truncated].

The Gaon HaChesid Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Tzvi Hirsh Zilberstein of Radomsk: Av Beit Din of Bedietshin and Wierzbnick in Poland. Author of the books: 'K'ranot HaMizbeach', 'Korban Shmuel', 'Torah Ve'Halacha', and 'Niflaot HaTiferes Shelomo', on his grandfather, the holy tzaddik Rabbi Shlomo of Radomsk.

 שלושה ספרים חשובים ונדירים כורכים יחד:

1. פולמוס היתר הטלטול בש"ק ברחובות קראקא - ספרו של רבי חיים אריה לייבש הורביץ בו התיר לסמוך על העירוב בקראקא, למרות שינויים שחלו בכשרותו.

תקון עירובין, אדות היתר הטלטול בשבת קודש פה עירנו קראקא, מאת רבי חיים אירה לייבש הלוי הורוויץ אבד"ק קראקא, ובזמן חיבור הספר מו"צ בקראקא. קראקא, תרמ"ח | 1888

בעקבות פרסומו זה התעורר כנגדו פולמוס רב ומכתבים מגדולי ישראל אחרים אשר אסרו את הטלטול בעיר.

חיבור זה הנו נדיר ביותר, לפי בדיקתנו הופיע במכירות בבידספיריט פעמיים בלבד.

2. רוח חיים, הספד על הגאון רבי חיים דווידזון אבד"ק ווארשא, מאת רבי בנימין דוד רבינוביץ, ווארשא, תרי"ד | 1854

ספר מספד נדיר על אבד"ק ווארשא רבי חיים דווידזון, דפים נאים ושמורים במיוחד!

3. ספר כבד חכמים, מעלת התורה ולומדיה מאת רבי אליקום געציל הורביץ, דור תשיעי להשל"ה. ווילנא, תרס"ב - הקדשה קצוצה מאת המחבר בשער הספר וחותמתו [קצוצה]

הגאון החסיד רבי אברהם שמואל צבי הירש זילברשטיין מראדומסק: אב"ד ביידעטשין ווירזבניק בפולין. מחבר הספרים: 'קרנות המזבח', שו"ת 'קרבן שמואל', 'תורה והלכה', ו'נפלאות התפארת שלמה', על זקנו הרה"ק רבי שלמה מרדומסק.

17 x 20 cm

Tikun Eiruvin: [3] 31 pages. Ruach Chayim: 11 pages. Kevod Chachamim: 15 pages.

Good condition. Old binding, minor time-worn wear to binding. In Sefer Kevod Chachamim, page-cutting affecting text at bottom of page in several pages, minor tears, and tear with text loss on last page. Dryness in paper in Sefer Kevod Chachamim and Sefer Tikun Eiruvin. Very well-preserved pages in Sefer Ruch Chaim.

מצב טוב. כריכה ישנה, פגמי זמן קלים בכריכה. בספר כבוד חכמים, חיתוך דפים הפוגע בטקסט בתחתית הדף בכמה דפים, קרעים קלים, וקרע עם חסרון טקסט בדף האחרון. יובש בנייר בספרים כבוד חכמים ותקון עירובין. דפים שמורים מאוד בספר רוח חיים.
