A page of Torah commentary, in the hand of the great Gaon Rabbi Haim Chizkiyahu Medini, known by the acronym of his work, the Sdei Chemed - a page from his work Sdei Chemed, the system of the letter Aleph, Halachic chidushim on the subject of melicha, and oil and discussion of the words of the Noda B'Yehuda and the Taz and other great rabbis. The Gaon Rabbi Haim Chizkiyahu Medini (1832-1905) was one of the greatest rabbis of the last century, and one of the greatest rabbis of the Land of Israel, the rabbi of the Jewish community of Hebron and of the city of Karsu-Bazar on the Crimean Peninsula. Renown by his work Sdei Chemed, who compiled laws in all parts of the Torah, which has found a place in all Jewish communities, and which the great rabbis have held in high esteem, the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, edited a new edition of this work for the press, in recognition of his high regard for the work. דף חידושי תורה בכתב יד בעל השדי חמד - מתוך חיבורו הגדול שדי חמד דף חידושי תורה, בכתב יד הגאון רבי חיים חזקיהו מדיני, הידוע בכינוי על שם ספרו ה'שדי חמד' - דף מתוך חיבורו 'שדי חמד' מערכת הא' חידושי תורה בהלכות מליחה, ושמן ומשא ומתן בדברי הנודה ביהודה והט”ז ועוד מגדולי האחרונים. הגאון רבי חיים חזקיהו מדיני (ז' בחשוון תקצ”ג – כ”ד בכסלו תרס”ה) מגדולי האחרונים, ומגדולי ארץ ישראל, רבה של הקהילה היהודית בחברון ושל העיר קרסו-בזאר בחצי האי קרים. מגדולי אחרוני דורו מחבר הספר הנודע 'שדי חמד' מערכו דינים בכל חלקי התורה, אשר קנתה את מקומה בכל תפוצות ישראל, וגדולי ישראל העריכוה עד מאוד, האדמו”ר רבי מנחם מנדל שניאורסון מחב”ד, ערך מהדורה חדשה של ספר זה לדפוס לגודל הערכתו את הספר.
