A poignant letter in his own hand and signature, of Rabbi Yehoshua Krohn, Av Beit Din of Bratshov, on his sufferings and tribulations – 1928. Written in German on a postcard. At the beginning of the letter, ”B”H” in Hebrew. On the reverse of the postcard, the rabbi's signature and the addressee's address. Rabbi Yehoshua Krohn, descendant of the author of the Shakh, rabbi of Bratshov (Brasov/Burstchov, Galicia). A man of great learning and suffering, as is evident from the letter before us. Rabbi Krohn fled Russia for Galicia in Poland after the 1881 pogroms, the ”Black Hundreds.” In Poland he was falsely accused and imprisoned for a year and a half. He supported orphans at his own expense, and even raised his own orphans after his wife died young. Very good condition. מכתב כאוב בכתב ידו ובחתימתו של רבי יהושע קרון אב”ד בראטשוב, על ייסוריו וסבלו – תרפ”ח (1928) כתוב בגרמנית על גבי גלויה. בתחילת המכתב 'ב”ה' בעברית. בגב הגלויה חותמתו של הרב, וכתובת הנמען. רבי יהושע קראהן, מצאצאי בעל הש”ך (נהג להוסיף בחתימתו: ”חוטר מגזע בעל הש”ך”), רבה של בורשצ'יב (בראשוב/ בורשצ'וב, גליציה). היה מלומד בייסורים ובחולי, כפי שעולה גם מהמכתב שלפנינו. הרב קראהן נמלט מרוסיה לגליציה שבפולין, לאחר פרעות תרמ”א, ה”סופות בנגב”. בפולין נכלא בעלילת שווא וישב בכלא למשך שנה וחצי. הוא החזיק יתומים על חשבונו, ואף את יתומיו גידל לאחר שאשתו מתה עליו בצעירותו. מצב טוב מאוד.
