The census of the ”Noar Tzioni” – the members' questionnaire [1939] – is very rare. Among the questions: Name of branch; how many years a member of the Histadrut; can speak Hebrew; can read a Hebrew book; attended a summer camp in 1938; worked in 1938 for the shekel... and so on and so forth. On the other side of the page a Zionist essay in pencil, beginning thus: ”The Jews in Palestine must create the new Jewish form of life.” It continues: ”We have in Palestine an opportunity such as never was before – to begin a true revival of Judaism, to draw freely from our own life the life of our own.” The words were probably written by one of the boys who participated in the census, from the immigrants from Europe. The Zionist Youth Movement is a Jewish-Zionist youth movement. The movement began its activities, like many other Jewish youth movements, at the beginning of the 20th century. What distinguished ”The Zionist Youth” at that time from other movements was its being a Zionist, secular, non-leftist youth movement. The movement spread throughout central and eastern European countries, the first pioneers of the movement immigrated to Israel in 1930, and established the Israeli branch of the movement. In the 1930s, the Zionist Youth Movement established a settlement movement that still exists today, which has established many settlements that still exist today, including: Nitzanim, Ein Hashlosha, Aloni Abba, Beit Nehemia, Naveh Atib, Sde Eli'ezer, and more. Small tear on side. מיפקד ”הנוער הציוני” – שאלון החברים [1939] – נדיר מאוד בין השאלות: שם הסניף; כמה שנים חבר בהסתדרות; היודע לדבר עברית; היודע לקרוא ספר עברי; ההשתף במושבת קיץ ב-1938; האם עבד בשנת 1938 בשביל השקל... ועוד ועוד. בצדו השני של הדף מאמר ציוני בכתב יד בעפרון, המתחיל כך: ”על היהודים בארץ ישראל ליצור את צורת החיים היהודים החדשה”. בהמשך נכתב: ”נתונה לנו בארץ ישראל הזדמנות שכמותה לא היתה מעולם – להתחיל תחיית אמת של היהדות לשאוב תוך חופש גמור את חיינו אנו”. כנראה הדברים נכתבו על ידי אחד הנערים שהשתתף במפקד, מהעולים ארצה מאירופה. הנוער הציוני היא תנועת נוער יהודית-ציונית. סמל התנועה התנועה התחילה את פעילותה, כמו תנועות נוער רבות יהודיות אחרות, בתחילת המאה ה-20. המייחד את ”הנוער הציוני” באותה תקופה מתנועות אחרות היה היותה תנועת נוער ציונית, חילונית, שאינה משתייכת לזרם השמאלי (כלומר לא סוציאליסטית). התנועה התפשטה בכל ארצות אירופה המרכזית והמזרחית, ראשוני החלוצים בוגרי התנועה עלו לישראל בשנת 1930, והקימו את הסניף הישראלי של התנועה. בשנות ה-30 הקים הנוער הציוני תנועה התיישבותית הקיימת עד היום, שהקימה יישובים רבים הקיימים כיום, ובהם: ניצנים עין השלושה, אלוני אבא, בית נחמיה, נווה אטי”ב, שדה אליעזר, ועוד. מצב טוב מאוד. סימני קיפול. קרע קטן בצד.
