A unique item: an original wooden box of the ”National Committee for the Jewish Soldier in the Brigade”! – 1945. A blue box, made of thin wood (lined inside with blue cloth), bearing in silver letters: ”The National Committee for the Jewish Soldier – The Yishuv for its Soldiers – 5705, ” and in silver the organization's emblem. Apparently in boxes such as this the inhabitants of the country gave small gifts to their brothers and sons who had enlisted in the ranks of the brigade during the First World War. Good condition. Wear and tear, characteristic of the age of the item and of what it went through in the war zone and on the way to it. פריט מיוחד במינו: קופסת־עץ מקורית של ”הוועד הארצי למען החייל היהודי” בבריגדה! – תש”ה [1945] קופסה כחולה, עשויה עץ דק (מרופדת בתוכה באריג כחול), ועליה מודפס באותיות כסף: ”הוועד הארצי למען החייל היהודי – היישוב לחייליו – תש”ה”, וכן מודפס בכסף סמל הארגון. ככל הנראה בקופסות כגון זו העניקו תושבי הארץ מתנות קטנות עבור אחיהם ובניהם החיילים שהתגייסו לשורות הבריגדה בתקופת מלחמת העולם הראשונה. מצב טוב. סימני שפשוף ובלאי, אופייניים לגיל הפריט ולמה שעבר עליו בחזית המלחמה ובדרך אליה.
