A rare and pictorial item! A guide to road traffic – Palestine Police Force (Israel) – Mandate Government – 1934. Very rare. Only a few copies of this pamphlet, from the early days of motorized transport in the country, remain in the world. ”Advice and General Information for Motorists”, among other things: a detailed ”Maximum Speed Limit for Motor Vehicles in Palestine” (25 kph for buses and commercial vehicles!). And here are some of the rules: ”A prudent driver uses his horn with discretion and alters the blast according to the circumstances. The abuse of the horn is as bad as its underuse.” ”When another driver is trying to overtake you, endeavor to assist him and not to hinder him. Never increase your speed at such a moment”. ”Outside the city it is desirable to blow the shofar before obtaining another vehicle”. ”Courtesy and consideration for others are welcome and appreciated in the King's Highway as elsewhere”. 7 pp. 13 cm. Fair to good condition. Stains and minor flaws. Loose binding.
