Shemen HaTov - Zaken Aharon, Venice, 1557 - the book that Marem Zacuto edited the index to - the first account of the blood libel in Ragusa. A volume of Shemen HaTov - Zaken Aharon, Chidushim U'Drashim, some of them on the Kabbalistic path, by the Kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Ohev of Ragusa. Edited by his grandson Rabbi Aharon HaKohen, who also edited the book for the press, together with Rabbi Meir Zacuto, who edited the index. Venice, Dafus Vendramina, 1657. In the back of the book are a number of pages of 'Maaseh Yishurun' a story of a blood libel that was leveled against the Jewish merchant Yitzchak Yishurun of Ragusa, in the Sukkot of 1622. Rabbi Yitzchak was severely interrogated, and was sentenced to twenty years in prison, though he was released after three years. In the years of the trial, Jews of Ragusa were forbidden to reside outside the ghetto.
