Hasidic polemic: Sefer Zichron Yosef, by Rabbi Yosef Meshternehrt, Av Beis Din of Pforde, including the preface against the Hasidim - first edition, Pforde, 1773-1774. In the author's preface, one of the great Ashkenazic scholars of that generation, speaks words of rebuke and polemic against the Hasidic movement in harsh terms: ”One sect, which brings no peace, which calls itself the sect of the Hasidim  U'Perushim [who] will distinguish themselves in their deeds and their customs from the congregation Mekhal Edat Kadoshim ”. In many copies these pages were torn out. Here they are in their entirety. פולמוס החסידות: ספר זכרון יוסף, מאת רבי יוסף משטיינאהרט אבד”ק פיורדא - כולל דפי ההקדמה כנגד החסידים - מהדורה ראשונה, פיורדא, תקל”ג-תקל”ד בהקדמת המחבר שהיה מגדולי אשכנז באותו הדור, מדבר דברי תוכחה ופולמוס כנגד תנועת החסידות בדברים חריפים ”כת אחת, אשר אין מהם נחת, מתכנה עדת חסידים ופרושים [אשר] יבדלו במעשיהם ומנהגיהם מקהל עדת קדושים”. ברבים מהעותקים נתלשו דפים אלו. לפנינו הדפים בשלמות.
