This sale consists of part one of the lifetime collection of British military antiques from a North Carolina gentleman who became interested in the British Empire while attending college there as part of his undergraduate studies. The sale includes mostly pre-1918 items that are rare and not often encountered from the British Empire. This collection features helmets, swords, guns, uniforms, headgear, regimental items, and a variety of objects of virtue. Some of the highlights include a rare RAF Scramble Bell, a Victorian Life Guards Officer's Helmet, a Field Marshal's Sabretache, an identified Brown Bess Musket, a cased and identified Tranter-type revolver, and an assortment of high-condition Victorian and Edwardian British Home Service helmets, lance caps, art, buckles, and silver dress pouches. Many items are identified, including swords and medals too numerous to list. Additionally, there are several Scottish and Irish regimental items offered, including a quite rare large-format photograph of an American Scottish clan in a period frame. These items have been in private hands for nearly 40 years and are being offered fresh to the market in this sale only!
