Northwest Coast Style Carved and Polychrome Painted Wood Model Totem Pole - A mid-20th-century hand-carved wood model totem pole executed in the Northwest Coast Indigenous style. The pole is constructed from wood and decorated with a polychrome paint palette of rust-red, yellow, brown, and black. The carving features a vertical stack of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures. From the top down, the figures include a watchman wearing a tiered potlatch hat, a seated figure holding a smaller figure, a crouching frog, a bird figure with a yellow beak representing a raven, another crouching animal, and a black-painted base figure with a protruding snout. The surface shows faceted tool marks from the carving process. The pole is mounted on a stepped square wooden base painted black. The reverse of the pole is flattened and fitted with a small wire loop for wall mounting. A rectangular area of white label residue is present on the reverse, though no text is legible.
